Marcus Paauwe Con Artist

Marcus Paauwe and his then girlfriend lived with me in Cork from November 2008 till May 2009 when they suddenly did a runner. We came home to find they had packed everything and left without as much as leaving a note. What a coward, he could have at least written a note saying so long sorry about the money I owe you.

He left owing just over a months rent. I found out I got off pretty luckily, his colleagues at Apple we he worked had made him personal loans which he of course will not be paying back as he has presumably left the country. After he had left I started opening his mail to try and get some idea of where he has gone to. This revealed that he had also taken out a personal loan from a loan company (charging 150% APR). So he is really working it from every angle and will get caught out eventually.

I did my bit and called up his bank and the loan company making them aware so they can monitor and hopefully freeze his accounts.

Unfortunately when I googled his name and email address before he moved in this did not come up. Clearly Apple also did not check his references before hiring him.

He is travelling with his girlfriend a 22 year old German lady. I hope she realises she is an accomplice to the crimes he is committing. They will get caught out specially taking loans from loan companies, they deal with scum like them every day. I hope they are caught in a country with suitably unhygienic prisons.

While he stayed with us he talked of getting a job in South Africa and Malta. He also has a US passport so he could be practically anywhere.

Marcus enjoys the odd hand of poker and looking at his Credit Card bills might have a little problem with gambling. He lost €300 in a couple of hours playing on paddypowers.com each time charging €20 to his credit card.

Small time gambler, con artists and not particular good at either as they are always broke.

At the moment I am getting an itemised phone bill from the telephone company to try and get in touch with there family. I am sure his girlfriends mum will be very proud to hear how her daughter is doing.

I have since been in contact with his ex girlfriend. She has split up with him and laid a charged against him at the police. It would appear she is also a victim of his scams.
