Montecarlo and asset selling is going up a gear. The Monte and my volumex HPE with seized engine are now up for sale everywhere that I can think of (capeads, gumtree, autotrader). Im thinking about all my odds and ends laying around my flat that I can off load to people, so if you have your eye on any of my goods give me a shout. |

It always sucks selling a car, in particularly when the car is a Lancia. I have had my Monte for a couple of years, so I have had my fair share with her and need to pass her onto the next owner before I leave for Ireland in 6 weeks time. So she has been clean and polished and is currently at Italsud Motors in Cape Town for some final repairs. After much worrying about money, the drive down and if I would actually be able to fit in a Montecarlo. I had horrible flash backs to the day I was offered a drive in a Birken Lotus 7 and I couldnt get my legs in. Not to worry though, I got the money, it arrived safe and I fit. My two girls drove me to bellville to go and collect her. She was driven down on a big truck full of new cars. She is so much more sexy though! |

So I am sitting at work with a major hangover after a night out in stellenbosch and I find a Montecarlo in the autotrader. Now as anyone who has spoken to me about lancia before will know, a montecarlo is the one I really wanted. I had also been toying with the idea of selling the prisma. Last month I saw an ad for a very cheap montecarlo in jhb. This got me thinking, but it was sold when I called. I have been looking for a montecarlo for a long time though. I have never been in the financial situation to buy one though or even seen many for sale. The first one I ever saw was sitting in Felix's workshop at Lancia Services in woodstock. It really stuck with me, when looking through my toy cars I found 2 lancia montecarlos! Now what would Frued say about that? So my best advice to parents is buy your children toy cars of cheap reliable cars and save them alot of heartache. Maybe there is a market for ugly barbie dolls as well? |
