Lindy Birthday Party, surprise

Surprise parties, call me a cynic but surely if the person wanted a party they would organise one?
What if for any particular reason that person did not in fact want a big party and was very happy letting there birthday slide in a very mellow kind way, with just a slice of cake at work and then a couple of beers with some mates after work. And then they get confronted by 25 of there friends trying to hide from them in an "Eastern Restaurant".
So this weekend we had two surprise parties. The first one, at Yo Eastern Fusion (some food really good, some very average, vegan friendly, not expensive) in sunset beach went off without a hitch. Despite us hiding the cars right next to an empty parking spot that the victim parked in.
Later the same evening we made a fashionably late arrival at N's surprise party, his rather creative friend, including one not so bright fellow who had finally worked out why table view was called table view, had been in cahoots with N's girlfriend.
